Tickets are $38, but early bird tickets are available for $30 until December 31, 2009.

There will be a Gaming Day at Church this Friday 18th Dec starting at 10am finishing at 3pm, but you can come and go as you please.

You can bring Games, Consols, Controller, Tv's if you want.

Soft drink is in the fridge for $1, and pizza will be happening around 12.30pm, bring $4 to go towards pizza if you want some.

it's that time of year again...

HORAY! CHRISTMAS!
We've put the decorations on the site too. Sorry, no Christmas lights, but there is candy cane stripes. To get you in the festive spirit, I've updated the music player with some (but not all) Christmas music. Now don't freak out, because it's good Christmas music from Relient K and Family Force 5, but if you get sick of it there are plenty of non-Christmassey tunes too, just scroll down.

Christmas is a very special time because it is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and to remember the reason why he came to Earth. As a church, we have a number of events where we come together to celebrate Christmas.

Christmas Dinner
On Sunday 13th December we will be holding our annual Christmas Dinner at the church. It begins at 5.30pm, with dinner being served at 6pm. This is a great time to come along and get to know other people in the church community, and a great opportunity to bring your family along. As well as having a feed, they'll be music, games and just hangin out.

Christmas Day
On Christmas morning we hold a service at VACC where we celebrate with music, and the Christmas story is normally shared too. If you would like to come along and join (yes, bring your family and friends) the church service will be in the VACC hall, and I am fairly certain it begins at the 9.30pm like our Sunday morning services do. I'll check with Mike and get back to yas ib that one.

Anyway, I hope to see as many of you as possible on Sunday night for the Christmas dinner.

The Amazing Race

This Friday is an early start and late finish, because we simple want to make this night last as long as we can! It will be AMAZING! The race will kick off at 7pm and wrap up at 10.30. Start and Finish lines are at VACC.

You will be travelling to various destinations, some on foot, some in leaders cars. Wear good walking shoes and clothes you can run in.

Come along for the challenge and some AMAZING prizes, make sure you bring your mates, because no one should miss this!!!

Cost : $2 to help cover the cost of the race.

A big weekend at one80

This Friday night one80 the boys and girls will be split to spend some time apart, but this Sunday night we have a special event on at church for all of you. Here are all the details:


BOYS

The blokes will be meeting at VACC at 6pm and travelling in leader's cars to Kenmore Baptist, 74A Kenmore Rd., Kenmore. We're attending an event called Fight Night, run by a Victorian Ministry called Roundabout Ministries, and is run by a guy named Adrian Rowse. The night focuses on sexual purity. Adrian and the guys openly talk about pornography, sexual addictions and sexual issues guys face. Unfortunately there is an age restriction of 13 years of age that Roundabout Ministries has set, due to the nature of the content discussed tonight, so if you're under 13 boys, sorry but one80 is not for you tonight. This is a ticketed event, so if you haven't told Mike your coming, call him TODAY and ask him if you can come because this is gunna be a powerful night. We're asking you guys to pay $10 for the night, but if you can't spare that right now don't let that stop you, on80 is happy to shout you, just let us know.
Just let your parents or whoever is picking you up know we won't be back at church until 10.30-11pm.

GIRLS

You will be meeting at VACC at 7.30pm and travelling in leader's cars to Cannon Hill Ten Pin Bowling (31 Propiety St., Tingalpa) to have some fun without the boys to cramp your style. 2 games and shoe hire will set you back $16.95. Get picked up again at VACC at 10pm.

SUNDAY NIGHT

We have the pleasure of hosting Adrian Rowse of Roundabout Ministries at VACC this Sunday night. Adrian will be speaking at our 6pm evening church service on the topic of Purity in a Pornographic World. This is a topic that has not received much attention in the church in recent years, but is a serious problem for many people, particuarly for young people. Come along and be encouraged and empowered to combat impurity, lust and pornography in your life and the lives of those you love. This guy is a powerful and interesting speaker, and I encourage all of you to come along, and bring your friends and even your parents if you want to.

Romanopoly

This Friday night is Romanopoly! It's not really like Monopoly, but the opoly makes it sound kool! Bring a toga (sheet) to wear over your clothes to go Roman style (over your clothes, not as a replacement of, we can't stress that enough to some of you).

TERM 4!?!

Well one80 kids it's time to kick off term 4 at one80. This term we're going to be pulling out some old games and trying out some new ones, when we have our games and FNL.

This Friday we'll be catching up after the holidays, hangin out, eating lollies and playing some sweet games. It's the usual time, 7.30-10pm at VACC, and canteen ready to go.

Tonight we're doing something we've never done before. Get dropped off at the church at 7pm and picked up again at 10.30pm. Early start, late finish.

We'll be travelling in leader's cars to Rocksports Indoor Climbing in Shailer Park for a night of indoor rockclimbing. Wear loose fitting pants or shorts (not jeans or a skirt) you can move around in and lace up sneakers. It's also a good idea to bring a water bottle. $16 will cover the climbing costs, harness hire and safety instruction.

Tribal Round 3!

After church camp last weekend, oen80 is back in full swing. Tonight is round 3 of Tribal Warfare, with all the fun trimmings to go along with it. Cyas 7.30-10pm tonight at VACC!

Round 2

Get on down to one80 this week for round 2 of Tribal Warfare. Chris and Sean have some awesome games lined up, and after that you can kick back with your small group.
7.30-10pm, canteen is on, cyas there!

Bonfire

This Friday, get dropped off at VACC at 6.45pm, and picked up again at 10.30pm.

Early start, late finish.

We will be travelling in leader's cars to Carl Coughran's home in Bahrs Scrub (near Beenleigh), about half an hour from Coopers Plains. Carl lives a property which is large enough to accommodate our bonfire, so we will spend the evening chatting, toasting marshmallows, telling stories and cooking the famour one80 doughboys (if you haven't had one, they're awesome).
Dress warm, wear sturdy, closed in shoes and bring a torch and a rug or something to sit on if you want (otherwise, there are plenty of logs to sit on).
The best part is it is FREE. Hopefully your name is on the list from last week, which has guaranteed you a seat in a car. If it isn't give Mike a call at the church.

Note: If you are planning on coming to the bush walk next Saturday (details are on The Fat) please let Mike and Vick know at the bonfire, as this helps us plan car numbers better.

Term 3...already?

Heck yes!
We kick off term 3 with Tribal and Warfare, FNL and catching up in small groups. New tribes means new tribe colours and new tribes names to twist to sound funny.
7.30-10pm at VACC, and the canteen will be open.

NOTE: If you are planning on coming to the bonfire at Carl's next Friday night (July 24th) you will need to put your name down on the sign-up list tonight, otherwise we haven't have a seat for you in a car next week.

The event of the year...

I can't tell you what we are doing, because it's just so cool it needs to be a suprise. All you need to know is that we haven't done this at one80 in 5 years, and it'll probably be another 5 years before we do it again. It is going to be one incredible, epic night. It is so big, it has taken us hours to prepare it. there has been so much preparation time carl and mike have been working on it all day every day this week.

What I can't stress enough is you have to come to one80 tonight, and you have to bring as many friends with you as possible. It's the usual time and place, 7.30-10pm at VACC, and as usual it's free.

Just one last note: wear clothes you can move and crawl around in, ie no skirts.

Don't forget to wear your team colours, because we might even hand out bonus points for best dressed tribe...maybe...Ehud, your colour is black. Xerxes, your colour is purple.

ATTENTION EHUD: There are only 4 rounds this term, so you must win Tribal Warfare this Friday night, or Xerxes will take out the series.

After all the fun of Tribal Warfare, we will be serving up Friday Night Live, and if you feel like a sugar hit after all that, canteen will be open.

ONE80 IS BACK FOR 09!!!

Well Christmas, New Years, and all your school holiday boredness has been and gone, and 2009 is here...but never fear, because one80 is back with a packed year of fun and excitement to keep ya busy every Friday night! (well, almost every Friday night, most of them)

There are a few changes to things this year. Cassie, Chris and Amy are no longer at one80. Chris and Amy aren't able to be at one80 due to other commitments this year, but if you see em around at church or somethin say and have a chat.
Cassie has moved to Japan for the next year to study there. We wish Cassie all the best, and I know that many of you will be praying for her as she goes through the challenges of living abroad this year. If you wanna send her an email, I know she would LOVE to hear from you.

Now, onto business- this Friday night (Feb 6th), we kick off the year with a nice easy-going sorta night. It's time just to hang out, cathc up after the long break, play some games, meet some new people, and talk about what we'll be getting up to at one80 this year.
We'll be at the church, the usual place, at the same time (7.20pm-10pm), and it will be FREE!
And CANTEEN will be open!
And the TEAR TIN will be out! ( I think...)
And Carl will be showing off his backflipping skills! (prizes if you ask him to do a backflip, and better prizes if you can do a backflip yourself....but no prizes for barrel rolls)
