Warfare Of The Tribal Type

hey guys!
how rockin was tribal warefare last night?!?! far out, my voice is goin again! all three tribal warfare nights so far have cost me the ability to speak, but im sure you guys arent complaining, hahaha. i gotta say, team DUNAMIS, you guys absolutely took it away last night! excellent job! team THARSOS, i also have to say, you guys are putting up an excellent challenge! you are worthy rivals, not to be underestimated. heh heh heh, last nights games were great. when we were playing the balloon game, charnstar had it in for me i tells ya....three times at least he took me outta the air in midjump! once was a coathanger, once by my legs and once by throwing me across the room! crazy stuff...crazy like a fox! how funny was the blindfold-run??? it cracked me up...much like tiphs game did. "you killed my father. prepare to die!" ahahahahahaha....props to tiph for that. nathans chicken story was quite hilarious too.
oh man oh man...so many good stories to tell...why dont you tell yours? tell your life story...wait, no, just a one80 story that you have in your head from last night. we love stories! also, keep the feedback coming. if youve got an idea that could improve one80 for the students, let us know, coz we are a youth ministry for you guys! what works and what doesnt? whats cool and whats not?
ok, well, for now at least the ponyboy is gonna go, coz hes got some assignments that need doing. aight kids, stay cool, and smell ya later!
God bless,
sean

CELEBRATING RAY

At 4:30am on Friday 17th of February, 2006, our longest serving One80 member, Raymond Garland passed away. As many would know, Ray had been sick on and off for many years but things had certainly gotten worse over that last 12 months. Ray was admitted into hospital earlier in the week and as always, everyone, Ray's friends and family, expected him to bounce back and be out and about within a few days. This, however, was not God's sovereign plan for Ray's life and now he is gone.
We would love heaps of One80ers to leave comments on this post and share their memories of Raymond. It can be 1 or 2 sentences or even a bit of a story. Please don't use this post as a means of communicating with each other but as an opportunity to celebrate Ray's life. After a few weeks, we will print off all of your memories and pass them onto Ray's family, so feel free to leave messages for them.
Ray's memorial service will be held at Village Avenue Community Church, 1 The Village Ave, Coopers Plains, at 2:00pm on Thursday 23rd of February, 2006.
I have talked to Ray's family and they would be honoured if you would attend and join them as they remember his life.
Please be praying for the Garland family now and over the coming months as they grieve and adjust.
Thanks heaps guys.
Know Jesus and make Him known,
Mike

AGMF - Australian Gospel Music Festival

Hey One80'ers
This is a bit of a Promo for AGMF (Australian Gospel Music Festival) which is a 3 day christian music festival held in Toowoomba over the easter weekend (14th - 16th April). You can camp for the whole 3 days or just come up for a day trip. Either way it's loads of fun and we hope you can all come and join in!
There will be some HUGE international artists coming this year, such as, Pillar, The Newsboys and Superschic[k]. There are also some big christian aussie artists like Bec St. James, Darlene Zschech and Reuben Morgan. AS WELL AS loads of smaller aussie bands like Sounds Like Chicken (awesomest ska band ever!), Half Way Out (another kool ska band), Another Day Down (very kool nice punkish guys), Rev!ve (from sydney, these guys are so nice, they gave me free stuff! and they sound really good too!), Complements of Gus (hilarious!), Jael (this lot are tops, they played at Vacc last year for the Fiji Mission fundraising gig), Rookie (brissy's own), Soulframe (how good are they!!?), Scat (jazz band, totally random!), Alabaster Box, Maverick (ask tiph about them), 5th Attempt (awesome lil punk band from the gold coast!), and of course EVERYONE has to go and see The Amazing Joel Hockey Movement (because he is the funniest guy you will ever meet, besides mike!).
BUT thats not all that goes on at AGMF there are loads of other attractions, to many to talk about so check em' out at the website! >>> www.agmf.com.au
We are giving you the opportunity to book your tickets through Tiph so you get a 10% discount, so see her about that asap.
You and your parents must know that this is not a One80 event, so yes there will be adults camping near you but you will be completely responsible for yourselves. It might be a great opportunity for your whole family to go camping! That's what The Frullet is doing!
If you have any questions or want more information about the weekend go to the AGMF website or ask Ryan, Sean, Tiph or me (Lesley) for a flyer!

Cya's all tomorrow night!!!

Blog Revamp

Hey crazy kids. Ryan and I spent a few hours on the weekend putting together this new, unique, One80 blog style - just so things didn't look so defaulty.

I trust that it's funky enough for you hard-core design freaks out there. I've tested it a bit, but if there's any problems, let me know. For best results, use a real browser (like Firefox). Hope you like the new touches.

And, while you're using Firefox, check out the 'Live Bookmarks' feature - it'll let you get a news feed on your toolbar direct from the One80 blog without even having to browse over to our URL!

Peace, out.

Message of the week

Police Commissioner Gordon says:
GO TO ONE8O!

Thanks Officer for kicking off this weeks post for us. This Friday night costs $4 cos we're makin pizzas and if you bring a blank shirt, pillow case, jeans, banner(thing), anything you want printed, bring it along. Your $4 for the night covers costs for making pizza and for any screen printing you wish to do. If you feel like more spending, canteen is on! (it's not spending, it's sugar!) but

you don't need canteen cos you got pizza, so put your cash in the tear tin!
Remeber, 7.30pm, this Friday night at VACC, bring ya gear for printing, and enjoy a fun night of hanging out together. I got a whole new music countdown playin all night too!
In the interview with Officer Gordon, he left us with this closing statement:
"This week we are screen printing, however, next week we would like to urge all students to bring a friend."
Police Commissioner Gordon pledges to keep one80 updated on all happenings.
