All Nighter!

This Friday Night is our annual ALL-NIGHTER. 7:30pm Friday to 8am Saturday, $5, bring pillows, doonas, sleeping bags, games consoles/controllers/games, if you want a One80 shirt bring a plain coloured t-shirt. canteen will be open all night for those much needed sugar hits.

Please DO NOT bring any energy drinks. Please DO get picked up on time as another group has the hall booked just after 8am. Please DO NOT expect to get much sleep.

This Friday we're talkin about drugs

This Friday @ One80 Youth Ministry we're looking at how to make wise choices when it comes to the issues of drugs and alcohol. 7.30-10pm at VACC.

When life hurts most

This Friday Night we're watching part 1 of the next Louie Giglio DVD called "Hope When Life Hurts Most". Louie will be looking at the reality of suffering and where God is when it feels like our world is being torn to pieces.
$2 will help cover some post-DVD supper.

One80 is still on this Friday...sort of

Friday night

Watoto African Children's Choir will be performing at VACC this Firday night. It starts at 7pm, but we're expecting a large crowd so you'll want to arrive somehwere around 6:30pm to get a seat. If you want to help with parking we would really appreciate it, just come down at about 6:15pm. Get picked up between 8:30pm and 9pm.

Saturday

Commando games is on again!
Meet at the end of Elizabeth St Woodridge at 10am and get picked up again at 3pm. Wear long pants, and if possible wear clothes that will help you blend in to the bush. If you don't have any clothes like that, there will be some for you to borrow.
Bring your own lunch and AT LEAST 1 litre of water to drink.

Gladiators, are you ready?

This Friday is Gladiator Games...come to one80 prepared for some fast, rough, high intensity games. Friday Night Live and small groups will be thrown in too!

THE FAT

We're back for term 3!

Come along to one80 this Friday night and catch up with your mates after the holidays. This week we'll be taking a bit of a look at the topics of welath, poverty, and social justice.
One80 is on from 7.30-10pm at VACC, and canteen will be on. Cyas there!

Progressive Dinner

We are walking on over to a few different homes to get a feed, progressive style. We will be meeting at Church at 6.30pm (a little early) and will be walking to a different house for each course of our meal.
Please make sure you wear comfy shoes and bring a jacket (its a bit chilly out). Tonight will cost $4 to cover the yummy food.
You will need to get your parents to collect your from the Lerches house at 10pm. Please call Mike or your small group leader to grab the address.
Bring your mates along for a great night of munching!
This Friday is the last one to get your camp form to Vicki. Get in quick because places are quite limited this year. Camp is something you just dont want to miss!

Box Games

This Friday night we are boxing you in, getting you to tick a box, having a boxing match, celebrating Boxing Day early and doing some boxercise. It's all about boxes and it's going to be crate! Box games, FNL and small groups.

If you have a cardboard box or two or three you can add to our pile, that would be excellent. Just bring them along and we'll tape them up.

Canteen will be on afterwards, which is sugar that comes out of a box!

Small Group Night

This Friday we are hanging out in our small groups. Your small group leader should have given you the details of your activity already. If you haven't heard about what you are doing, get in contact with your small group leader, or Mike.

We need a photo of the week! Capture your small group night in a photo and post it on the One80 facebook page, the best one will be posted on the Blog for a whole week, or more....

Glorious Glow Games!

Break out your fluoro and white clothes, your glowsticks and glow-in-the-dark facepaint and earrings because this Friday night is our Blacklight Night.

We're blacking out the church building and and turning on the UV lights to make all of our games glow. This is a top night to invite your friends to.

7.30-10pm at VACC. No cost, but canteen will be open.

Term 2 is here!

ONE80 IS BACK!
After the Easter holiodays we will be getting back together this Friday night at 7.30pm for some high energy games, some fun, some laughs and an impacting message during Friday Night Live. There is of course no cost, but canteen will be on.
Also, it is a good chance to catch up with Mike, Jonno and Jason who have been away with the Amos Trip in Outback Australia.

Easter fun at one80!

Hey guys!
This Friday at one80 we're wrapping up the term with a night of super sweet chocolate games (to tie in with Easter), followed by Friday Night Live and small groups. 7.30-10pm at VACC, cyas there!

The Great Marble Challenge is BACK!!!

Did you ever play with those marble tracks as a kid? They were pretty fun.
Well this Friday is the Great Marble Challenge, a massive, way better version of that old marble toy. We build marble tracks with anything we can get our hands on, and they are massive!

It's time to unleash the inner architect, engineer, inventor, visionary or mad scientist inside you. There is no cost, but we would LOVE IT if you could bring along old, clean softdrink bottle tops, cardboard tubes and cardboard sheets for the marble challenge.

So be sure you're at one80 this Friday night, 7.30-10pm at the church, and bring your mates cos it is going to be EPIC. I can't stress this enough, we only do this once every couple of years and it is SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

Some good board games

At one80 tomorrow night you'll face a series of fast and frantic board game based challenges, followed by Friday Night Live and small groups. 7.30-10pm at VACC, cyas there!

Movie night

HEY GUYS!
Tonight at one80 we're breaking out the popcorn and making ice cream sundaes as we sit back, relax and watch a movie. Which movie you ask? Ask Mike if you really wanna know, but otherwise let it be a nice surprise.

Feel free to bring beansbags, cushions, pillows etc to get comfy.
The cost is a tiny $3 to cover the cost of ice c...ream and stuff. Canteen will also be open if you want to buy any more junk food.

Ballistic Games

This Friday night at one80 can be described as "ballistic". The games and challenges will test your ball skills, your patience and your frustration threshold. FNL and small groups will top the night off.

Laserforce!

Are you the ultimate warrior? Is THIS guy the ultimate warrior?

Find out at Laserforce on Friday. get dropped off at VACC at 7pm and picked up from VACC at 10pm. During the night we'll be driving in leader's cars to Laserforce in Wooloongabba where we can shoot each other with laser guns, hang out and watch that cheesey intro video.

Wear clothes you can move about in, but remember that it gets hot in there. Bring a bottle of water too because drinks there are way expensive.

The cost is $22 for 3 games if you are under 15 years old, and $26 for 3 games if you're over 15.

NOTE: We have to cater for numbers in cars. If you didn't put your name down last week to come to Laserforce, we don't have a seat in a car for you. If you still want to come ring Mike at the church on 3219 6700 and he might be able to find a seat for you.

Guns at the ready

Before FNL and Small groups we are launching a full-scale NERF WAR.

So if you own a nerf gun, or a few nerf guns, please bring them along to use for the night. Don't bring any darts, one80 will suply the darts, and they've been modified to fit any nerf gun. If you don' own a nerf gun don't rush out to buy one, we have about 15 to lend out.

If you would like to win a nerf gun, check out our Guess the Junk competition below.

Everyone will need to bring eye protection. We will have some eye gear for you to borrow, but if you can please bring your own- safety goggles, a face shield, a scuba mask, a motorbike helmet- whatever you want, be creative!

Also, there is a dress theme- Future Warriors. What does that mean? Well, that's open for interpretation. Think Halo, Ironman, Mad Max, Steampunk, CyberPunk, Star Wars...whatever you think it means. Have fun with it!
Remember, you don't have to dress up, but it does make it more fun, and there will be some prizes for best dressed.

So guys, we'll see you at VACC this Friday night, 7.30-10pm, ready for action.

Guess the Junk Competition

We're running a little competition here at one80ym. It's a little bit like the old "Guess the number of jellybeans" game you used to pay a dollar to enter at the school fete.

All you have to do is take a good long look at our header, and guess how many different objects make up the O-N-E-8-0 in our header. To enter, submit your answer go to the one80 facebook page and submit your answer under the Competition heading. The person who submits the closest guess is the winner.


First prize is a Nerf Gun!

Second prize is a Superball, the greatest bouncey ball known to man.

The competition closes 10pm Thursday the 10th of February, and the winners will be announced at the one80 Nerf night on Friday the 11th of February.

Conditions:
- Entry is only open to current one80 students and leaders.
- A maximum of 2 entries per person.
- In the event that two participants enter the same number, the first entry will only be accepted. The second entry will be deemed invalid and the entrant will be notified.
- In the event that your entry is deemed invalid, an entrant may submit a new entry.

Hey One80!

Well today was the first day back at school (groan) but don't stress because it's Australia Day on Wednesday!

Don't forget to get decked out in your best green n gold, get together with your family and celebrate the country we are so blessed to call home.

chillout day at VACC

Hey guys!
We hope all of our one80 people are safe. Please be praying for the people of our city and the surrounding region. This is the worst crisis we've facing in most of our lifetimes.

If you're not stuck at home because of the floods then come along to church this Friday (the 14th) and chillout. We'll be hanging out playing xbox and ps3, board games, cards, and just chilling out and chatting. It's from 10am-3pm, you are welcome to come and go as you please. You need to provide your own lunch (there's a 7-11 and shops near by), but cans of drink will be available for $1.

Students are welcome to bring consoles, games etc.

Watch a pizza, eat a movie

On Monday night (Jan 10th) you're all invited to Mike and Vicki's house for pizza and a movie from 6.30pm-10pm. Please bring $5 for pizza and a bottle of drink or something to share. We'll provide the popcorn, screen and movie.

Get some culture these holidays!

Hey guys!
Just a reminder that tomorrow there is a one80 activity if you're looking for somethinf to do. We're heading into Southbank tomorrow as a group to get some culture (and I'm not talking about cheese)

We'll be meeting at VACC at 9AM. We'll be walking to Coopers Plains train station and catching the train to South Bank, where we will be spending some of the day visiting the Queensland Art Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and the Queensland Museum. We'll then wander down to the parklands to pick up some late lunch.

We'll be back at church by 4PM, but we willl contact parents if we are going to be arriving back earlier. The galleries and museum are all free, so you'll just need money for the train (or a GoCard) and money for lunch.
