Greetings from sunny Fiji! Fiji is great guys, it's so beautiful, and the people here are so warm and friendly, it's truely an amazing country. I don't have much time so I'll make this post as quick as I can.We got here last wednesday night

on saturday we went on a boat down the beautiful navua river and visited a village, where we took part in a kava cerimony and then we had a traditional Fijian lunch. It was SOOOOO good pacific food is the best in the world! After lunch we went further up the river and went swimming at the waterfall and to get there i hadta climb up the rocks for ages but it is SO worth it and we climbed up the 1st waterfall and jumped off it's so cool its like 2.5 stories up and the water is so deep but the next one u cant climb its like 6 stories and vertical so yeah but we swam under it and the water hurts lol
On sunday we chilled out and today, Monday, we started the beach mission. It is really hot today, even the fijians think so, which means it definately IS hot.
Anyway, we get back NEXT monday arvo, ring my mum if u wana come to the airport to see us cos I'm goin 2 melbourne like 2 days after i get home from fiji

This week at one80 it's gunna be a huge night of full-on games and fun. We'll be hanging out, playing games, and just chillin. Last week the jam night went off, and a great night was enjoyed by everyone, especially the musos. For those who missed it don't worry there'll be another one next term.
Also, the 40 hour famine starts tonight for those who are doing it, and on Sunday there will be lunch at Tim's house from 12 o'clock, so all those who are doing the famine come along and we'll enjoy eating again together. See Tim or Laura for more details.

Warning: this post slippery when wet

Well, once again the wide games were great, and the new terrain proved for an interesting game. This Friday (the 29th of July) will be a night of team games, that will really show you what it means to rely on others, and to have them rely on you. Tonight is free, but canteen and the TEAR tin will be out of course

Comment now on Operation Magnetic Bagel, and whatever else you feel like talking about really.

OPERATION MAGNETIC BAGEL

After the blazing success of last terms wide games, there was a public outcry for MORE, so this Saturday the 23rd of July, get ready for more action in Operation Magnetic Bagel. Like always, the wide games will test your speed, stealth, strategic skills, endurance and team work; but this time expect it to be even harder, with a new, very different terrain, and some new twists...

Bring: Ya mates, at LEAST 2 litres of water to drink, food for the day, and a bag to carry it in. You will need to wear sturdy, comfy shoes or boots, and if you have them, clothes that will help you blend into the bush, like camo print. There will be camo clothing to borrow if you need it, but stocks are limited, and you will need safety pins and a belt if you are borrowing camo pants.
See Mike or one of the leaders or students who attended the last one if you have any questions.

Progressive Dinner, Friday July 22nd

Tonight, you will need to get dropped off at the church AT 6.30PM and get picked up AT 10PM, at Mike and Vick's house (55 Dubarry Street, Sunnybank Hills)
Tonight we will be walking to three different houses, one after the other, and eating a course at each house. It's called a Progressive Dinner. We will be covering afew kilometres, so wear comfy shoes and bring something warm to wear.
Tonight will cost you $3, which is pretty cheap for a three course meal, and you need to be at church AT 6.30, and get pikced up at Mike and Vick's HOUSE.

So who enjoyed Shanty Town? Comment now!

Monday, July 11, 2005

This week, we're playing....Shanty Town!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have been born into a different family, in another part of the world? What if you lived in a tiny shelter made of rubbish and struggled to make enough money o buy food every day?
Yes, tonight is called Shanty Town. What is Shanty Town? Come along and find out...
