[Insert Witty Post Title Here]

Good morning all,
how are is everybody this fine saturday? i'm taking a break from my homework to post up here, and i'll start off with this: how did you find last night? what was the most challenging circumstance you faced? did you have fun? what is your worldview on things issues refugees now? i had a good time last night, but i wont say it wasnt confronting. i gotta admit, at the start, when the lights went off and the guns started, i was pretty freaked out. crazy stuff. the leaders did a great job in their roles, props to them for that! thanks also to mike for the little discussion he led afterwards; what do people think they can do for those in situations like what we only got a taste of last night? lets get out there and make a difference! its our world, and our future too, so we have to get involved, and change this world alongside Jesus!!!
also, i'd like to post a beautiful poem that i found on a Christian Forums website. its called "When I Say". have a read of it, and comment on what you think of it, and how it applies all of us who are Christians in this world.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting, "I am saved"
I'm whispering, "I was lost"
That's why I chose this way.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are too visible,
but God knows I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I speak His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know that I am loved.

2 For the Price of One

Howdy One80ers out in cyber world.
Well, what do you guys think of your new tribes? What did you think of Tribal Warfare on Friday night? Who are you inviting to the next Tribal Warfare?

Prasie God we saw 3 students come to know Jesus for the first time on Friday night. Be praying for Anthony, Ash and Laura as the start to live for Jesus. also be praying for all the other studenst who are already Christians but really needed to call out to Jesus for forgiveness and a restored relationship?
Go Justine for "Going Public"! that was super sweet.

I hope and pray that you're all experiencing the presence and joy of God in your life today.
What are you writing on your eternal index cards today? What are you filling your drawers with?
Remember, Jesus' name is written over all that you have done. If you know him, you are forgiven, washed clean and made new.

Hey, check out this passage. It's one of my favourites and packed full of inspiring, encouraging, comforting and challenging stuff.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV)

"Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We're Christ's representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God's work of making things right between them. We're speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he's already a friend with you. How? you say. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God." (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 The Message)

Share your thoughts on some or all of the following questions or make your own comments as the questions are just there to help you think.
What does it mean that we are "new creations"?
What does it mean that "all this is from God"?
Who did God reconcile us to Himself?
What is our role, our responsibility now that we are reconciled to God?
What does the very last sentence mean?
After reading the passage, how should you now live?

Love you guys

On Saturday night (April 29) we are heading off to Boondal, to the Entertainment Centre, to go to 'HUGE', a massive concert event held by Youth Alive QLD. It features Melbourne rockers Antiskeptic, Amercian funny-man speaker Reggie Dabbs, and Queensland's own Youth Alive band. It is gunna be great. If you didn't tell Mike you wanted to go on Friday or Sunday, we don't have a spot in a car for you. If you're coming, be at church EARLY, because we are leaving at 4.30 PM. We will be back at church at 11pm. You need to bring $ for dinner, and tickets are around $15. Bring $20 just to be sure. Personally, I'm taking my own food, I refuse to pay those ridiculously high prices, but I will scab chips off others.
Click on the image above to visit the Youth Alive QLD website, or for the flyer try this link http://www.youthaliveqld.com/site/documents/Brisbane.pdf
If it won't work and you want the flyer email me I'll sned it to you (I tried to put it on here, wouldn't work)
Comment now on Tribal Warfare, and Youth Alive, and AGMF, and just general fun.

Can you make a difference?

Ever thought about what it would be liking, living in another part of the world?
Perhaps you've considered what it would be like, if you were living in a world where you had to fight for your very survival.
Your home lost, your family scattered.

Whether you've thought about it or not, it is a reality, for most people of the world.
For some people at one80, this may even have been a reality, and for all you know, it could happen to you too.

That is why, this week at One80, we'll be looking at the harsh reality of life. It's free, and canteen and the tear tin will be open.
Note: this is not a fun night, this is a very challenging night. For more info, talk to a leader.

SU Camp: Training Week 2006

<patronisingpartyclown>
Hello boys and girls! Do you know what I have for you? A present! You'll like it! What's that, you say? It's behind me? No it isn't! It's, it's, down below this sentence!
</patronisingpartyclown>

Since I don't post often, I like to make the posts worthwhile - this camp is only open to students in grades 10-12, and is often cited as a milestone in the lives of many young Queensland Christians. I'll make sure Mike gets some hard-copy fliers in coming weeks, but here's a sneak preview for now.

Keeping your holidays full of fun and laughs

Well One80ers, I am just full of competitions at the moment. So, here's another one.
Look at the pictures with the 12 character faces or avatars (click on it if you want to enlarge it) and try to guess who the 12 people are. Write a comment and list the numbers 1-12 and next to each number write who you think the person is. Please use their blogging name not their real name unless their blogging name and real name are the same like... me, Mike!

Hints...
1. All of the 12 people are from One80
2. All of the 12 people have commented in last last couple of months
3. Thinking back over recent One80 events may help with some of their identities
4. Blogging names may help with some identities
5. Sorry, not everyone who has commented recently has an avatar (I ran out of space and time).

Have fun.
Know Jesus and make Him known.

Tribal Warfare Update

Big news One80 fanatics. Two new tribe names have just been born. All they need now is the people.
"What are these new names?", you ask.
...like I'm going to tell you!
However, I will let you know that they both begin with the letter "I". That's the letter "I" or "i" or eye (?!). Why don't you leave a comment and share your theories on what you think the 2 new names are. Sounds like fun to me!
At the same time, I am going to run an exclusively online competition to name the new Tribal Warfare trophy. You know, the big fat green frog that's wearing a crown and holding a sceptre and that has 2006 Term 1 - Tharsos written across his or her belly. (I'll try to get a photo up in the next few days.)
You may submit a maximum of 2, that's two, not three, not four, not five, not anymore, just 2 suggestions for the trophy name. Halfway through term 2, I will make a short list of the top 5 and then )ne80 will vote. The winning entry will have the glory of naming the trophy, plus they will win a One80 trucker cap all of their own.
Enjoy your easter guys.
Know Jesus and make Him known
Mike

HOW DOES COMMENTING WORK?!

Wondering how to post a comment? Well I thought I'd show those who don't know, to make this site more accessible. Well, first of all see that thing that says Comments 5 comments
That's bad, so click on it!
Next, you'll find a page that looks like this:
The box that has Leave your comment written above it, situated on the right hand side, is where you type in your comment. To post your comment, you now need to publish it. There are two options, one is other and one is annonymous. You want to select the tab that says other, then type in your name in the first box, and the second it says to type a website. I have no idea why that's even there, so if you can't think of anything type, just type google or something eh.
Once you've filled in the boxes, press the blue button that says Publish Your Comment.
If you wanna use a nickname, just sign your first name at the bottom of your first comment, and keep your screen name consisitant so we know who is who, it makes things so much easier when we're moderating comments.
If you select annonymous, just sign your name at the bottom, otherwise we delete annonymous comments because we have to exercise some caution.
If it doesn't work, email me at i_luv_my_hat@hotmail.com

Have fun!
Ryan, site administrator
