A Work in Progress

Sometimes as Christians, even when we are walking closely with Jesus, spending time with God in Bible reading and prayer, it can feel like we are not getting anywhere. It can feel like we are not growing or changing, we are not becoming more like Jesus.
We can find ourselves feeling discouraged and like we are wasting our time. We may even feel like God has given up on us, like we're a lost cause.
Paul writes this in a letter he wrote to some friends in the city of Philippi...

"...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6 NIV)

"There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears." (Philippians 1:6 The Message)

So guys, how does it feel to know that God Himself is going to carry on the good work He began in you?
What do you think it means that He is going to bring it to flourishing finish on the day that Jesus Christ appears?
How can you let this verse impact the way you live this week?

Love you guys,
Know Jesus and make Him known
Mike
